REFLECTING ON THE LIFE OF ENOCH.

Life is not always measured about how many years you lived on earth, but the number of people you impacted and how great blessings you are to the lives of others. So many people has become a blessings to thousands of people without expecting anything in return due to their benevolence, principles, charitable mindset and ideology. The bible recorded that Methuselah was the father of Enoch; didn’t live as long as his father, but he had personal relationship and intimacy with God.

Enoch left a memorable legacy and he is still remembered by Bible scholars as a man that walked, pleased, and feared God. Hebrews 11:5 says ” By faith Enoch was translated that he did not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: before his translation he had this testimony that he pleases God.” Why did God accord Enoch this great privilege?

1. He walked with God. Enoch walked with God during his lifetime. He understood that walking with God is his responsibility. He knew that God deserved total obedience, holiness, reverence and worship. As Christians, we should emulate the character of Enoch in our service to God.

2. He pleased God. He enjoyed the great privilege from God because he lived his life to please God. It’s God’s will that we pleases him because he is a jealous God. He desires to bless us if we have a personal relationship with him. Enoch had a constant fellowship with God during his lifetime.

3. He witnessed for God. Evangelism is the heartbeat of God. He witnessed because his generation was known to be ungodly, and sinful. He talked to them and warned them of the consequences of their action.

Child of God, follow the path of holiness and righteousness like Enoch. The only way to please God and enjoy his privilege, blessings and preservation is holiness. Ask God to give you the grace in Jesus name.
