DEPART AND FLEE FROM FALSE BRETHREN.

False brethren are those who pretend to be Christians in the house of God but have a negative agenda, plan against the church and its members. Gal 2:4 says ” And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage.” They are agents of darkness in disguised. They appear to be holy but have selfish ambition, and interest.

They also look for every opportunity to exploit other brethren in the church. The things of God have no place in their lives. They can do anything for money. They betray the Pastor, leaders, and their follow brethren just to enrich themselves. Also false brethren criticize, condemn, etc without making any positive contribution for the development of the church. 1 Peter 2:3 ” By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgement has not being idle , and their destruction doesn’t slumber.” Whatever happens in the church is brought before the public. They are antagonist in nature, and derive joy in pulling down the progress of the church. Identifying false brethren is not easy because of their pretentious behavior.

How to identify false brethren.

  1. By their fruits. In Matt 7:20 Jesus said ” Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.”
  2. They oppose constituted authority. They usually oppose the directives and leaders of the church.
  3. Selfish in nature. False brethren are selfish in nature. They are not interested in what will be beneficial to the church.
  4. Displaying exploitative tendencies. They look for every opportunity to exploit their members.

Beloved, beware of false brethren. They are everywhere. Don’t be deceived by their title, position etc they occupy in the church. So many Christians have been deceived by them. They corrupt the mindset of Christians against the leadership of the church. Whosoever is displaying the character of a false brethren should be avoided irrespective of his position in the church. 2 Thessalonians 3:6 says ” But we command you, brethren in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you withdraw from every brother who walks disorderly and not according to the tradition which he received from us.” Flee from them because they are enemies of righteousness.
